What an exciting time to be getting involved with Northampton Men Allowed 2! I really do hope you will take the plunge and come to hear what it’s all about on June 4th at the Saints Rugby ground on Weedon Road, Northampton. You won’t be asked to sing on that day: just listen and then decide.
Things have hardly stood still for the members of the main choir – The Northampton Male Voice Choir – since they burst into prominence recently with an energetic singing programme in 2013 inviting Northamptonshire Men to take part in an exciting concert and subsequently to swell their ranks. That was Northampton Men Allowed 1.
Two years on and the unstoppable male voice choir led by me, Stephen Bell are doing it again. John Griff of BBC Radio Northampton announced at a massed choir spectacular on Saturday, May 2nd in the Northampton Derngate that the Male Voice Choir will be singing on stage at Northampton’s Deco theatre with Faryl Smith, the Virtuosi GUS Brass Band and a newly formed choir – Northampton Men Allowed 2. That could be YOU!!!
The NMA2 programme comes at just the right time for us in NMVC as we are 70 years old and our celebration year is very exciting for us and sees us launch NMA2 as well as a whole host of other activities such as launch of our own subscription series concerts. If this is anything like NMA1 then with NMA2 we could see over 50 enthusiastic men turn up to our launch night at the Saints on June 4th: this really is quite a phenomenon”. Do you wish to be part of it? I hope so.
Hopeful singers, whether they feel they can sing or not are encouraged to come along for free beer (no obligation) at Franklins Gardens on June 4th where all will be revealed and all questions will be answered.
