Northampton Male Voice Choir (NMVC) is delighted to announce that David Laing, recently retired Lord Lieutenant of the County, has agreed to become its President.

David and his family, who moved to Northamptonshire in 2002, have a deep interest in music and are keen supporters of the Youth Orchestra that performs with Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust (NMPAT) at the Royal and Derngate.

The award winning Male Voice Choir is a Registered Charity and combines making music with raising money for great causes and this is an interest that is shared by its new President. David has served as a trustee, chairman or president of many charities, both national and more locally, including the Northamptonshire Community Foundation, the Northamptonshire Association of Youth Clubs and Adrenaline Alley, the biggest urban sports park in the UK.

Choir Chairman, John Waller, said “David is very enthusiastic and full of ideas. I am sure that he will make a real impact. I believe his appointment is a really positive step forward for the choir.”
